Mystery
I’ve always loved mysteries, suspense, thrillers and just a tiny bit of horror. Okay, so my horror is pretty much confined to Stephen King’s Christine and The Shining (loved it so much that I wrote an article on its inspiration, The Stanley Hotel, for New Mexico Journey). Other horror books have a tendency to give me nightmares, but I digress. I love mysteries and read them constantly. Here are just a few, and I really do mean just a few, of my favorite mystery books from over the years:
- The Famous Five books by Enid Blyton
- The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin
- Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier
- Jamaica Inn by Daphne DuMaurier
- The entire Alphabet Series by Sue Grafton (A is for Alibi, etc)
- The Tuesday Club Murders by Agatha Christie
- The Other Side of Midnight by Sidney Sheldon
- The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
- What the Dead Know by Laura Lippman
- Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
- The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
- In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware
